I was hoping for a good sunset looking into the sun, but found the picture I really wanted looking in the other direction - and seeing the wind-blown snow illuminated by the setting sun.
Sometimes it seems like I have been taking pictures my whole life. The first time I took a close-up picture of a flower I must have been about 6 years old.
